Heidi and Eric's Wedding

Heidi and Eric were married in northern Minnesota on Saturday, August 22. Weather was great on the north shore of Lake Superior. They are now honeymooning in France. Check out the pictures by clicking on the title above.

Ireland Pictures

Ireland and Scotland trip in September 2008 was a true adventure. Along with our friends Julie and Al Harris we ventured off to the beautiful emerald isle and to Edenburg, Scotland for a 10 day adventure, the memories of which will be with us forever.

Trips

Well...we are back from Minnesota and Texas! Beth spent a week with the Lindsay women at Possum Kingdom Lake. Bob spent the day with Alyse and Jeff in Austin prior to a conference in San Antonio. And, we both spent 4 days in Minnesota this past week, visiting our MN Kids and Bob's family. Lots going on these days. We can rest a few weeks now before our BIG trip to Ireland with our friends, Julie and Al Harris. We were able to see them in Minnesota as well, and able to finalize some trip details. Get ready for a really BIG blog entry post trip! We were unable to get to northern MN to see Steve and Mary Anne, and Bill and Sue. Just wasn't enough time.

It is hard to believe the difference in weather between New Mexico, Texas and Minnesota. The heat is about the same (Mid to high 90's every day). But, the humidity in T and M really makes the high temps uncomfortable. We never fully realized the degree of difference until experiencing it these past few weeks. Another reason to stay in NM!! Yesterday it was near 100 here and certainly hot in the sun. But, after sundown the temps moderated to low 80's and along with the canyon breezes it was wonderfully refreshing.

Our Animal Family

I just spoke with Lettie and realized many of you have not met our "other" family. You know...after the kids leave we still need someone or something to care for, so here they are! Al and Butch (our cats) are still alive and kicking. They have accompanied us from Minnesota to Texas to New Mexico and haven't missed a beat. Al has scared us a couple of times by escaping and spending a night or two outside. Around her cats are Fillet Mignon for the coyotes, so the old boy has done well to survive...so far. Butch is afraid of his own shadow, so he would not think of going outside.

Then there is Miss Lucy and Miss Sallie. Miss Emma met her maker a few months ago and Lucy was so lonely that we had to find her a playmate, and Sallie fit the bill.

Are we crazy to have four animals? Yep, but how else can we fulfill our parenting need (short of bringing in foster kids)?

The Lindsay's

Art and Pat Lindsay spent the past week with us at our home in Albuquerque. What fun!! We visited our favorite NM sites and did the tourist thing with them. Bob got in a nice round of golf with Art. Lots of shopping, eating and relaxing. Great memories..Wonderful time! The best part of their visit was the time spent around the patio table, in the shadow of Sandia Peak (our front yard), sharing stories and ideas and just enjoying each other's company (and a glass of wine or two).

The Gehrman B&B is open to all.

First posting

Hi Everyone,

Well...this is our first posting on our new blog. Not sure how often we will be posting updates, but check back now and then for the latest from Bob and Beth.



Kate and her friend Chad just departed after a very full 5 day visit. I think we will all be sleeping extra well for a few days, recovering from all the hiking and late nights. We had a blast!



Next up...Art and Pat Lindsay and Steve and Mary Anne this weekend. Should be another rip roaring, good time.
